Job summary

NES Fircroft is seeking an EDM/CNC Operator as a contingent worker to operate EDM and CNC equipment, read mechanical drawings, and set up tooling and fixtures on metal castings and bar stock. The role emphasizes precision, safety, and adherence to specifications, with responsibilities spanning setup, measurement, inspection, and problem solving.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and experience with machine operation, assembly, or maintenance.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Background in machine operation, assembly, or equipment maintenance; comfortable with tools and following work instructions.
U.S. Persons eligibility and ability to pass drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

Set-up and operate CNC/EDM machines per specifications and setup instructions.
Study work instructions and determine machining requirements and tolerances.
Install work holding devices and position work pieces on machine table.
Select tooling and arrange electrodes in automatic-tool changer if required.
Observe control panels to verify dimensions, feeds, and speeds.
Inspect first-run pieces and record key dimensions with micrometer and dial gauges.
Notify supervisor of non-conforming pieces or machine issues; troubleshoot problems.
Maintain tools and measuring instruments and uphold quality standards.
Follow safety rules and perform other related duties as assigned.
