Job description

CNC MACHINE OPERATOR

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machine Operator, proficiency in CMM Quality Control Inspection a plus.

EDCO, INC. is a family-oriented manufacturing company seeking great people to join our team of talented engineers, fabricators, and machinists. EDCO provides a professional and fun environment working with a diversified set of customers, products, equipment, and manufacturing processes. An AISC Certified Fabricator, EDCO works with General Construction, Marine Construction, Renewable Energy, Aerospace and Defense, and other industries with a need for metal fabrication and specialized custom equipment.

Our shop runs specialty parts with tight tolerances, prototypes, and small production runs. This level of an operator should be able to work directly from a drawing or CAD model to develop a manufacturing process, fixture design, select special order tooling for purchase as well as further optimize existing programs and processes to improve production efficiency, quality and/or reliability. Our shop utilizes Mastercam and Haas mills and lathes for machining as well as Verisurf software for our FARO Arm and a Laser Tracker for quality inspection.

If you are motivated self‑starter, have excellent communication skills, and are dedicated, collaborative, professional, results‑oriented, and highly reliable, we think you might be a great addition to our team and would love to learn more about you.

  • A qualified candidate would have no less than 5 years of CNC machining experience. This includes broad knowledge of machining techniques and CNC machine operation and involves familiarity with diverse setups and understanding of program formats involving combinations of operations to the capacity of the machine. Advanced setup, adjustments, proving out programming and operation to perform complex series of progressive machining operations with close and exacting tolerances require a high degree of skill. May run more than one part simultaneously. This position assumes the machinist can work independently on the most complex parts and serves as a technical resource to less experienced machinists, including setting up and instructing other operators and performing inspection for conformance.
  • Effective communication, time‑management, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement processes and standards.
  • Ability to work well independently and cross‑functionally as part of an established and growing team.
  • Requires working knowledge of geometry, trigonometry, and basic algebra.
  • Ability to read detailed drawings or files, including drawings, sketches, and those for CAD and CAM.
  • Follow the company's Quality Management System.
  • Qualified candidate must possess ability to use precision measuring instruments (Laser Tracker & Articulating Arm) independently.
