Job summary

Spirit AeroSystems, Wichita, KS, is seeking a seasoned Maintenance Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain Multi-Axis CNC machines and related process equipment. You will apply shop practices and regulations while coordinating with engineering and vendors to ensure timely project completion.

You will perform root cause analysis, manage CMMS data, and assist in planning and sequencing rebuilds and installations. Union environment and comprehensive benefits accompany this role.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience.
• Experience repairing and troubleshooting cranes, hoists, CNC machines, or other heavy industrial equipment.
• Experience using precision measuring and alignment tools.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and maintenance instructions.
• Willing and able to work any shift, including alternative workweeks (2nd shift for most new hires).

Responsibilities

• Perform root cause analysis in support of reliability processes and collaborate with vendors, engineering, team leader, customer, other crafts, and management to solve equipment problems and develop corrective action.
• Enter and retrieve data from the CMMS system and order parts required to accomplish the tasks.
• Plan, perform design reviews, buyoffs, F.A.T. and sequence installation of new and rebuilt equipment.
• Troubleshoot and correct during initial checkout of assets and systems for timely completion of the project.
• Plan work sequences for technicians engaged in mechanical rebuilds, repairs and maintenance.
• Use precision alignment and measuring equipment (e.g., levels, laser trackers, micrometers).
• Coordinate with organizations to provide reliability failure analysis and problem resolution.
• Train and mentor other employees and apprentices.
