Job summary

Jabil is seeking a Copper Brazing Technician to join our Utah manufacturing team. You will perform precision brazing of copper components, read blueprints, operate oxy-fuel torches, and ensure high-quality, leak-proof joints through controlled procedures and thorough documentation.

You will support leak testing and rework verification, follow brazing procedures, and maintain nitrogen purge as needed. ISO 13585:2012 and AWS B2.2 brazing qualifications are preferred for this role.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of copper brazing processes and applications.
• Proficiency with oxy-fuel torches and precise heat control.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of metal properties to ensure bonding and joint integrity.

Responsibilities

• Join copper components by heating and applying filler metal to create leak-proof bonds.
• Interpret blueprints and written instructions for correct assembly.
• Operate torches safely with precise heat control.
• Prepare, assemble, and braze copper pipes and fittings.
• Follow safety procedures for compressed gases and maintain a clean workspace.
• Monitor brazing furnaces and related equipment as needed.
• Assist with equipment maintenance and good housekeeping.
• Apply fluxing to remove oxides and promote filler flow.
• Record inspection results and maintain traceability.
• Set up dry nitrogen purge to minimize oxidation when required.
• Select appropriate filler metals and joints per drawings.
• Support pressure/leak testing, diagnose defects, and perform approved repairs.
• Troubleshoot brazing defects and participate in root-cause/problem-solving with QA/Engineering.
