Job summary

Johnson Controls in Largo, FL is seeking a skilled Brazer to join our HVAC equipment production team. The role focuses on brazing copper components, testing, and ensuring leak-free joints to meet quality standards.

You will read blueprints, follow SOPs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment. A high school diploma or GED plus 6 months of relevant manufacturing experience are required; JCI brazer training is provided within 30 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 6 months experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, safety documents, and technical instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to complete JCI Brazer training within 30 days of hire.
• Preferred: brazing, soldering, or welding experience; military experience or technical training.

Responsibilities

• Perform brazing operations using a gas torch on copper components.
• Join coils, headers, and valve pack materials per instructions.
• Read and interpret blueprints and shop orders.
• Inspect brazed joints and perform first-article inspections.
• Report defective materials or questionable conditions.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace (5S).
• Follow safety procedures, PPE, SOPs, and JSAs.
• Collaborate with team to meet production goals.
• Communicate safety, quality, process, or equipment issues.
• Support continuous improvement and use ERP/Microsoft Office to track production.
