Jabil is seeking a Senior Welder/Brazer in Grantsville, Utah, responsible for precision brazing and welding of copper components. You will execute high-quality, leak-tight joints while interpreting technical drawings and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Job description

How will you make an impact?

As a Senior Welder/Brazer you will perform precision brazing and welding of copper and related components in a production environment. This role is responsible for executing high-quality, leak-tight joints, interpreting technical drawings, and ensuring compliance with controlled processes, safety standards, and quality requirements.

What will you do?

• Perform precision brazing/welding of copper assemblies to produce strong, leak-proof joints.
• Interpret blueprints, specifications, and work instructions to ensure accurate assembly and joint integrity.
• Safely operate oxy-fuel torches, induction equipment, and related tools with precise heat control.
• Prepare, clean, and assemble components prior to brazing; ensure proper fit-up and joint configuration.
• Select and apply appropriate filler metals, fluxes, and heating methods based on specifications.
• Execute nitrogen purging and cleanliness practices to prevent internal oxidation and contamination.
• Support and perform pressure/leak testing, troubleshoot defects, and complete approved rework.
• Identify and resolve brazing/welding defects (e.g., porosity, lack of fill, overheating) in collaboration with Quality/Engineering.

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in copper brazing and/or welding in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong proficiency in oxy-fuel torch operation and heat control.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Solid understanding of metallurgy, brazing processes, and joint integrity principles.
• Experience with leak testing, defect troubleshooting, and rework processes.
• Knowledge of fluxing, filler materials, and purge practices for high-quality joints.
• High attention to detail, strong manual dexterity, and commitment to safety and quality.
• Ability to follow controlled processes and maintain documentation and traceability.

Certifications (Preferred)

• ISO 13585 or AWS brazing/welding certifications (or ability to qualify)
• EPA Section 608 (if applicable)

Preferred Qualifications

• Manufacturing environments such as HVAC/R, refrigeration, or heat exchanger production
• Experience working with medical gas systems
• Experience in regulated production settings requiring documentation and quality compliance
