Job summary

Peoria Unified School District in Glendale, AZ is seeking a Preventive Maintenance Worker – Cooling Tower Technician to perform semi-skilled maintenance on HVAC cooling towers, including preventive inspections and adjustments to operation components.

This 12-month position supports the Maintenance department; responsibilities include routine tower cleaning, valve adjustments, pumps, water treatment checks, safety procedures, and working with the central plant team to keep systems running

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 1 year of related experience preferred.
• Must pass background and fingerprint checks.
• Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card required or obtainable.
• Valid Arizona driver’s license required.
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Do routine maintenance on cooling towers.
• Clean pump suction strainers and tower basins.
• Inspect and adjust valves, belts, and piping as necessary.
• Check chemical feed systems and water quality.
• Coordinate with water treatment contractor for maintenance.
