Job summary

Mid-Central Electric is seeking a reliable Winding Machine Operator to join its manufacturing team in Madison, WI. You will operate high-speed coil winding machines to produce copper wound coils for medium-voltage control power transformers and support related assembly tasks.

The role requires attention to detail, the ability to follow complex instructions, and the willingness to work as part of a team in a structured 40-hour workweek. Training on setup and safety procedures is provided.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate machinery in a seated position
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow production instructions

Responsibilities

• Review transformer winding and assembly documentation to determine proper wire size, number of turns, and core specifications
• Set up winding machines according to production requirements
• Operate winding equipment efficiently while maintaining quality standards
• Manually insert insulation material between winding layers as required
• Change wire and materials as needed during production runs
• Monitor machine performance and report operational issues to supervisors promptly
• Assist in other manufacturing areas during periods of reduced production volume
