Job summary

Guhring USA in Wisconsin seeks a skilled CNC Universal Grinder to set up and operate multi-axis grinding machines, performing complex operations to close tolerances. You will handle frequent changeovers for small quantity orders and drive efficiency by running more than one machine when possible.

Responsibilities include reviewing work orders, selecting wheels, tool setup, auto-cycle operation, first-piece inspection, SPC, and maintaining a clean work area; associates degree in machine tool

Qualifications

• Associates degree in machine tool operation or 3–5 years related experience preferred.
• Must read, understand and follow written instructions and shop drawings.
• Above average math skills; ability to calculate machine settings and adjust.
• Ability to use precision measuring and testing equipment.
• Broad knowledge of cutting tool design and universal grinding procedures with multi-axis CNC equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate universal CNC grinding machines to perform complex operations to close tolerance specs.
• Perform frequent changeovers for small quantity orders and maximize production efficiency by running more than one machine.
• Dress and form abrasive wheels; mount tools; set speeds, feed rates and travel stops.
• Run equipment in auto-cycle; inspect tools and ensure dimensions meet specs.
• Enter production data into the data collection system; monitor equipment performance and report issues.
• Perform SPC procedures on all jobs and keep work area clean.
