Job summary

Guhring USA in Wisconsin seeks a skilled CNC OD Grinder/Operator to set up and run multi-axis grinding on carbide and steel tools. You will perform frequent changeovers for small-batch work and maximize production by operating more than one machine when feasible.

Responsibilities include reviewing work orders, selecting wheels, bushings and programs, dressing wheels, adjusting speeds/feeds, inspecting first pieces and maintaining documentation, while keeping the area clean and safe.

Qualifications

• Must have CNC certificate or 3–5 years related experience.
• Ability to read shop drawings and perform setup.
• Strong math and trig skills for appropriate settings.
• Experience with grinding and multi-axis CNC equipment.
• Able to enter production data and document results.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate more than one CNC grinder when required.
• Follow procedures to select grind wheels, bushings, collets and programs.
• Dress and form abrasive wheels; mount and secure tools.
• Run in auto-cycle; inspect first-piece and adjust as needed.
• Keep work area clean and organized; perform data entry when required.
• Monitor equipment performance and report maintenance needs to avoid downtime.
• Complete documentation for each job.
