Job summary

Avalign Integrated Medical in Mentor, OH is seeking a CNC Turning Set-Up Technician to set up, operate and troubleshoot Star CNC Swiss lathes for medical implant work. You will perform tool changes, wear compensation, and maintain accurate offsets to meet tight tolerances.

Read blueprints and setup sheets, inspect first-piece and in-process parts with micrometers and calipers, document logs, and coordinate with engineering and quality to optimize programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years operating and setting up CNC lathe machines.
• 1+ year blueprint reading experience.
• 1+ year applying GD&T with hands-on measurement using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot Star CNC Swiss lathes to produce medical implants.
• Perform tool changes, wear compensation, and machine offsets to maintain tolerances.
• Read blueprints, setup sheets, and work instructions to ensure customer requirements.
• Inspect in-process and first-piece parts using micrometers, calipers, and gauges; complete logs.
• Execute routine preventive maintenance and document maintenance records.
• Adhere to ID & traceability protocols and quality procedures.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality to refine programs, tooling, and processes.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized 5S work area.
