Job summary

Viant Medical in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking an experienced CNC Swiss Machinist to operate Star CNC Swiss lathes and ensure tight tolerances for medical components. You will set up tooling, adjust offsets, and monitor multiple machines to maintain throughput.

Qualified candidates will have 2+ years of CNC Swiss experience, strong blueprint/GD&T skills, and the ability to read micrometers and gauges. This is a full-time, on-site role with competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• 2+ years CNC Swiss machining experience or journeyman-level skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills.
• Solid understanding of shop math and precision measurement.
• Ability to work independently and follow written/verbal instructions.
• Comfortable standing for extended periods and handling materials up to 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operate Star CNC Swiss lathes with minimal supervision.
• Perform tooling changes and manage offsets to maintain dimensional accuracy.
• Run multiple machines while managing production throughput.
• Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and vision systems.
• Hold tight tolerances required for medical manufacturing.
• Deburr, buff, and finish parts to print specifications.
• Troubleshoot machining issues independently and make necessary corrections.
• Complete production documentation accurately to maintain traceability.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and uphold 5S standards.
• Support and assist other machinists as needed.
