Job summary

Acument Global Technologies in Michigan seeks a mechanically inclined Tool Room Machinist to set up tooling for machines, program and run CNC setups, and perform quality checks. You will support first-pass quality and ensure timely changeovers for headers.

The role requires reading tooling encumbrances, operating toolroom equipment, and maintaining a clean, safe work area. Strong math and problem-solving skills are essential, with readiness to learn and grow in manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Mechanically inclined with basic math ability and problem solving.
• Shop classes or manufacturing training required.
• Able to learn new areas of the business and read basic tooling/manufacturing prints.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Drive) helps daily tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist machine operators on new job development.
• Operate Tool Room equipment with limited supervision (hones, grinders, etc.).
• Read prints and prepare tools to meet tolerances.
• Use micrometers, calipers, indicators, and other inspection tools.
• Keep work area clean and safe; follow safety guidelines.
• Perform preventative maintenance when required.
• Program and setup CNC machines for tooling changes.
• Know turning, milling, drilling, boring processes.
• Inspect tooling to ensure quality.
• Demonstrate strong math and problem-solving skills.
• Handle other duties as assigned.
