Job summary

A-Line Staffing Solutions is seeking experienced CNC Setup Machinists to set up and operate CNC and NC equipment in a precision manufacturing environment in Michigan. You should read blueprints, select tooling, set offsets, adjust feeds and speeds, inspect parts, and troubleshoot machining issues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of CNC/NC machining experience.
• CNC machine setup experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with CNC milling and/or turning.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Working knowledge of GD&T.
• Knowledge of tooling, offsets, feeds, speeds, and machining processes.
• Familiarity with G-code and M-code.
• Experience with precision inspection equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage production priorities.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC and NC machines for production runs.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, and job orders.
• Determine tooling, fixtures, machining sequences, and setup requirements.
• Load and verify CNC programs.
• Set tool offsets and adjust feeds and speeds.
• Operate CNC mills, lathes, or other machining equipment.
• Monitor machining processes and make adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy.
• Perform first-piece, first-article, and in-process inspections.
• Measure finished components using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot tooling, machine, program, and dimensional issues.
• Maintain setup sheets, travelers, inspection records, and other production documentation.
