Job summary

Acument Global Technologies in Grand Blanc, MI is seeking a mechanically inclined individual to install, maintain, repair and alter machine components with a focus on first time quality and on-time delivery during changeovers.

You will assist machine operators on new jobs, operate Tool Room equipment, read tool prints, select tools, and program CNC machines while maintaining clean, safe work areas and following company guidelines.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills using Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Drive, Gmail, etc.).
• Solid math skills.
• Mechanically inclined; shop classes or manufacturing process training required.
• Basic problem solving; identify routine causes and fix.
• Willingness to learn new areas of business.

Responsibilities

• Assist machine operators on new job development.
• Operate Tool Room equipment with limited supervision to meet quality and productivity requirements; include grinders and polishing.
• Read manufacturing and tooling prints; select and prepare tools to meet tolerances.
• Utilize Toolroom inspection equipment - micrometers, calipers, indicators, contour tracers, microscope, and comparators.
• Maintain cleanliness of work area and follow safety guidelines.
• Perform preventative maintenance when required.
• Program and setup CNC machines.
• Know tools for turning, milling, drilling, and boring.
• Responsible for own inspection of tooling.
• Strong mathematical and problem solving skills.
• All other duties as assigned.
