Job summary

Ascent Aerospace in Michigan seeks a CNC Operator to work with the CNC Department Manager to establish aerospace tool setups and validate programs for 3- and 5-axis machines, ensuring accurate and repeatable NC output.

You will handle day‑to‑day CNC operation, read blueprints with GD&T, maintain NC data, and support safe, efficient production while coordinating with NC Programmers and the manufacturing team to meet schedule targets.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years’ experience in conventional or NC machining.
• Experience managing Numerial Control data is a plus.
• Strong mathematical ability including proportional, percentage, area, circumference and volume calculations.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints with GD&T knowledge.
• U.S. Person status per ITAR requirements.

Responsibilities

• Establish NC tool setups and validate NC programs for 3- and 5-axis CNC machines.
• Perform complete Numerical Control operation for machining tools, details, and parts.
• Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and policies.
• Other duties as reasonably assigned by management.
