Anderson Express in Muskegon, MI is seeking a Precision CNC Setup & Programming Specialist to lead machine setup, changeovers and tool offsets. You will inspect parts, verify tolerances with precision measuring tools, and ensure consistent part quality.

You will also load CNC programs, monitor execution (G-code/M-code), train operators, and collaborate with the team to maximize uptime and lean production flows. 2–3 years CNC operator experience and a shop-floor mindset are valued.

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of CNC operator experience (preferred).
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Comfort working in a shop environment.
  • Solid math and analytical ability.
  • Clear written and verbal communication; strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Own machine setup, job changeovers, and tool offsets for consistent part quality.
  • Inspect, replace, and manage tooling to maximize uptime.
  • Load CNC programs and verify correct execution (G-code/M-code savvy).
  • Safely load/unload parts and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Use precision metrology to validate parts with calipers, micrometers and gauges.
  • Accurately clock in/out of jobs and record time spent.
  • Sort conforming vs. nonconforming parts with sound judgment.

As parts start to flow, you’re checking features against prints using calipers, micrometers, pin and thread gauges—qualifying good from bad with confidence. A changeover request comes in; you switch jobs efficiently, swap worn tooling, and train an operator on best practices, keeping downtime to a minimum.
