Job summary

Ottenweller Company, Inc. is seeking a skilled machinist to set up and operate CNC and conventional machines in a busy Indiana shop. You will read blueprints, select tooling, and verify tolerances while running trials and adjusting settings to achieve spec parts.

Responsibilities include precision inspection with calipers and micrometers, performing routine maintenance, and keeping accurate logs. This is a full‑time, on‑site role requiring reliable hands and strong mechanical aptitude.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with 1–2 years related experience or training.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and use basic measuring tools.
• CNC programming and setup experience preferred; strong mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate conventional, special purpose, and CNC machines.
• Study blueprints to determine dimensions, tolerances, and sequences.
• Enter part and tool setups, select fixtures and tools, adjust controls.
• Run trials, monitor machine operation, and adjust as needed.
• Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, indicators, and tape measure.
• Complete maintenance and perform routine repairs on machines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
