Job summary

Theonics, Inc in Huntsville, AL is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to set up and run lathes and mills, interpreting prints and CAD/CAM data to produce precision parts.

You will verify tolerances, perform in-process checks, document setups, and perform basic machine maintenance to keep production flowing on day or night shifts.

A high school diploma and at least 2 years of hands-on CNC experience are required; GD&T knowledge and experience with calipers and micrometers are a must.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (technical machining certificate or degree preferred).
• At least 2 years of hands-on CNC experience with both mills and lathes.
• Working knowledge of CNC programming and G-code.
• Fluency with precision measurement (calipers, micrometers, gauges) and GD&T symbols.
• Ability to interpret technical documents and engineering drawings.
• Sharp problem-solving skills, meticulous attention to detail, and strong teamwork/communication.

Responsibilities

• Set up and run CNC lathes and mills to meet print and CAD/CAM specifications.
• Decode blueprints, drawings, and CAD models to determine tooling, workholding, and sequence.
• Hold tight tolerances through in-process checks and final inspection to spec.
• Keep machines performing at their best through basic maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Record setups, part counts, and any program/offset changes with clear notes.
• Follow safety practices and maintain an organized, clean workstation.
