Qualdoc in Ashland, VA is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to set up, program, and operate CNC lathes and mills for precision parts. You’ll work from technical drawings, maintain tight tolerances, and use multiple controls, including Fagor, Fanuc, Haas, and Heidenhain.

Expect to handle 50 lb lifts, maintain quality, and meet a 56-hour work week with Saturday shifts. This contract-to-hire role offers up to $33/hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Experience with CNC programming, setup and operation.
• Ability to read and understand technical or machining drawings.
• Experience with precision measurement tools.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain tight tolerances.
• Commitment to workplace safety.
• Ability to work approximately 56 hours per week, including Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC Lathes and Mills using machining drawings.
• Create and modify programs using G-code.
• Work with Fagor, Fanuc, Haas, and Heidenhain controls.
• Maintain machining tolerances as tight as 0.0005".
• Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and dial bore gauges.
• Verify dimensions and maintain consistent part quality.
• Read and interpret technical/shop drawings.
• Follow safe work practices in a heavy industrial setting.
• Maintain reliable attendance and a professional work ethic.
• Lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
• Work the required schedule, including Saturdays.
