Kids for the Future in Lynchburg, VA is seeking a CNC Machinist (Lathe/Mill) to program, set up, and operate CNC lathes and milling machines to produce precision components. You will read blueprints, verify GD&T, and ensure parts meet drawings and production schedules.
The ideal candidate has 2+ years of CNC experience, a high school diploma or GED, and familiarity with Rotax controls; overtime and weekend work may be required.

Reporting to the Fabrication Manager, the CNC Machinist (Lathe/Mill) is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC lathes and milling machines to manufacture precision-machined components. Working under the guidance of ACS corporate leadership, this position ensures parts are produced in accordance with engineering drawings, quality standards, and production schedules. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and committed to maintaining efficient machining operations while delivering high-quality results.
High school diploma or GED required.
Technical education or machining certification is preferred.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience programming and operating CNC lathes and milling machines in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, apply GD&T principles, and use precision measuring equipment with accuracy.
Experience with hand tools, machine tooling, and setup procedures is required. Familiarity with CNC ROTAX controls and manual lathe programming is a plus.
Ability to perform in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while effectively managing changing production priorities.
Must be willing to work overtime, extended hours, and weekends as required to meet production demands.
Position requires frequent bending, kneeling, lifting, and working at floor level throughout the shift.
Must be able to safely operate power hand tools and other shop equipment.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
