Job summary

Leidos Defense Systems Colorado Manufacturing is hiring a CNC Machinist for 2nd shift at the Colorado Springs, CO location. The role involves programming, setup, and operation of CNC lathes (primarily) with backup on CNC mills.

You will produce precision parts from prints, using fixtures and gauges to ensure dimensional accuracy and tolerances. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of CNC machining experience, ability to read engineering drawings, and proficiency with precision measuring tools.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 5+ years of precision machining on CNC Mills & Lathe.
• Intermediate shop math skills.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret work instructions for product fabrication.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers).
• Must lift 35+ pounds and work overtime as needed.
• Willingness to work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 6AM-6PM.
• U.S. Citizenship and clearance eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Read engineering drawings.
• Operate CNC lathes (primarily) with backup on CNC mills.
• Set up and run machines on a wide variety of operations within print tolerance specifications.
• Use fixtures or gauges to verify dimensional checks.
• Experience in manufacturing of large aerospace components from exotic materials is a plus; 5-axis and/or mill-turn experience.
• Work on different projects in a fast-paced environment with little or no assistance.
• Perform other duties and be available for overtime as necessary.
