Job summary

Sumitomo Electric Carbide Manufacturing in Wisconsin is seeking a CNC Machine Operator for 2nd and 3rd shifts to run semi-automatic CNC equipment, perform standard sequences, and learn setup processes with guidance.

You will read part drawings, use precision instruments to inspect parts, maintain tight tolerances, report any tooling or machine issues while following safety rules and maintaining a clean work area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• Knowledge of machine shop practices, techniques, operations.
• Basic math, logical reasoning, and problem solving skills.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds.
• 1+ years of CNC Machining experience.
• Preferred candidates have experience operating CNC grinding equipment (Walter, Ewag, Rollamatic, ANCA, Waida, Vollmer).

Responsibilities

• Operate semi-automatic CNC machining equipment for standard sequences.
• Learn the setup process.
• Recognize tooling and adhere to tight tolerances.
• Follow instructions and adjust tools as needed.
• Use precision measuring instruments to inspect parts.
• Report machine malfunctions or tooling issues.
• Assist with setups or proving programs when required.
• Work under supervision and follow defined procedures.
• Follow safety regulations and maintain a clean, orderly work area.
