Job summary

Cox Machine, Inc is seeking a CNC Lathe Operator to set up, program, and operate CNC lathes to produce precision components per engineering drawings. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and process discipline in a busy shop environment.

The position requires hands-on lathe experience, attention to detail, and ability to read blueprints. On-site work at our Wichita, KS facility with routine maintenance and inspection duties included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience with lathe machines.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathe machines to meet blueprint specifications.
• Machine parts to spec using CNC lathes for cutting, drilling, sanding and finishing.
• Monitor operations and adjust to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC lathe equipment.
• Inspect finished products with micrometers, calipers, or portable CMM/FARO.
• Align and secure holding fixtures, tools, or materials per setup documentation.
• Deburr machined parts to remove burrs and sharp edges per requirements.
• Evaluate procedures for Kaizen-driven efficiency improvements.
