Job summary

Cox Machine, Inc. is hiring a 5 Axis Setup & Tooling Operator in Wichita, KS to lead CNC setups on Haas UMC-750 and related five-axis centers. You will install fixtures, load programs, verify offsets, and ensure quality through first-piece inspections.

You will support multiple cells, optimize tooling and processes, mentor operators, and work closely with Manufacturing Engineering to improve efficiency and defect-free production.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of CNC machining experience.
• 2+ years of setup experience on CNC machining centers.
• Experience with 5-axis machining processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete setups on Haas UMC-750 and other 5-axis CNC machining centers.
• ,
• Load and verify programs, setup sheets, tool offsets, and work offsets.
• Perform first-piece inspections and production approvals.
• Support multiple machining cells and prioritize work to maximize machine uptime.
• Maintain and operate 5 axis machines and deburr parts as required.
• Monitor tooling life and proactively replace worn or damaged tools.
• Diagnose and resolve machining, tooling, fixture, and process-related problems.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to improve CNC processes.
• Provide technical guidance and training to Parts Loader Operators.
• Ensure operators understand work instructions, inspection requirements.
• Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
