Job summary

Cox Machine, Inc. in Wichita, KS seeks a 5-Axis CNC Programmer to evaluate customer engineering data and create NC programs using Mastercam or similar CAD/CAM tools to produce parts within tight tolerances.

You will supply setup sheets, fixturing and tooling guidance, verify NC code, aid the production floor with troubleshooting, and strive for maximum manufacturing efficiency with minimal variation.

Qualifications

• 5 years of hands-on NC/CNC programming experience.
• Proficient in programming for Lathe, 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machines.
• Mastercam or similar CAD/CAM solutions preferred.
• Vericut or similar simulation software experience preferred.
• Aerospace industry experience highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of post processor functions.
• Knowledge of major CNC controls such as Fanuc, Haas, and Siemens.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specs and 3D models to determine accurate machining methods.
• Mastercam programming proficiency and use of its functions.
• Analyze NC programs to find and fix malfunctions; improve efficiency.
• Design, write, and optimize complex NC programs for multi-axis machines.
• Standardize workholding, tooling, and fixtures.
• Run simulations and tests to verify accuracy and prevent collisions.
• Coordinate with project managers to meet timelines.
• Stay current with trends in manufacturing and CNC programming.
• Troubleshoot complex shop-floor programming and machining issues.
• Assist in tool selection and jig/fixture design.
• Train end users and production staff on programs.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
