Job summary

People First Recruitment is seeking a CNC EDM operator for our client in Michigan. You will set up, operate and care for EDM machinery, reading blueprints and ensuring first-article verification.

Responsibilities include loading programs, selecting tooling, performing in-process checks, and assisting with grind operations while maintaining a safe, clean workspace. Nights and weekends shifts are available.

Qualifications

• Experience in CNC machining; EDM exposure or proficiency is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and inspection requirements.
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, indicators).
• A detail-driven approach and strong commitment to quality and safety.
• The ability to work independently and collaborate closely with production and engineering.

Responsibilities

• Own complete EDM setups from program load to first-article verification.
• Apply blueprint literacy and inspection criteria to every stage of the job.
• Keep machines optimized through offset adjustments, tooling selection, and in-process checks.
• Diagnose and correct machining issues quickly; maintain a safe, clean, organized workspace.
• Assist with grind operations and perform routine maintenance and tool changes to maximize uptime.
