Job summary

Southco is seeking a Primary Operator to produce quality components from a variety of Primary machinery. You will troubleshoot basic operations, run jobs in the business system, and inspect first article quality before starting production runs.

Responsibilities include documenting setup and tooling, maintaining housekeeping, and alerting on safety hazards. A High School diploma or GED, strong teamwork, and ability to lift up to 33 lbs are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Safety and quality conscious with close tolerances.
• Ability to read mechanical blueprints and use measuring instruments.
• Experience operating manufacturing machines (2-3 years).

Responsibilities

• Understand and troubleshoot basic operation of Primary manufacturing processes, tooling and material.
• Utilize business system to run jobs according to schedule.
• Produce sample pieces and first article quality before starting production run.
• Perform quality tasks including segregation of non-conforming parts.
• Notify supervisor of tooling/material needs and assist in ordering supplies.
• Document setup, production and tool repair in the business system.
• Clean machines, perform scheduled maintenance and report safety hazards.
• Complete training to refine skills and learn other jobs in the department.
