Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Machine Operator in Bristol, CT to operate respool, braiding, and extrusion machines for cable production. You will run the respool machine, support stock and quality areas, and verify parts meet customer specifications. The role requires basic math, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

This is a contract-to-hire, daytime shift position. Work is performed on a lean production team of about 18–25 staff in a fully onsite facility with competitive

Qualifications

• Experience operating extrusion and braiding machines in manufacturing.
• Ability to perform basic math for order lengths and quantities.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and handle materials safely.
• Proficient with hand tools, tape measures, and calipers.
• Attention to customer specifications and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate the respool machine to consolidate or remove wire for production jobs.
• Move rails of wire and support stock room activities.
• Assist with quality tasks to meet customer specs.
• Set up and operate wire braiding machines to produce cable.
• Operate extrusion machines to jacket wire with correct color/material.
• Perform jacketing operations and monitor cooling and winding.
• Wrap wire with clear plastic and bundle into spools.
• Load raw materials and unload finished materials.
• Perform basic changeovers between jobs or wire types.
• Use measuring tools to verify dimensions and product accuracy.
• Follow blueprints and production instructions.
• Maintain clean, organized work area; work lean and independently.
• Collaborate with team to meet production schedules.
