Data Guide Cable Corp in Gardner, MA is seeking a Braid Operator to join our wire and cable production team. You will set up, operate, and monitor braiding machines, ensuring correct tension, coverage, and quality on cable cores.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand basic machine operation and production flow.
• Ability to read and follow work orders, travelers, drawings, specifications, and instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify visual defects and process changes during production.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality in a production environment.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, or holidays as business needs require.

Responsibilities

• Set up, start up, operate, and shut down braiding machines according to work instructions and SOPs.
• Mount bobbins and materials onto machine spindles and braiding heads.
• Thread braid material through machine guides and carriers per braid pattern requirements.
• Adjust machine settings to maintain consistent braid quality and cable appearance.
• Operate braiding equipment to apply shielding or reinforcing materials over cable cores.
• Monitor machine performance and adjust for tension, coverage, and defects.
• Inspect in-process and finished braids for coverage, defects, and workmanship.
• Use measuring tools to verify conformance to specifications.
• Complete production records, quality checks, and material usage forms.
