Job summary

Staffmark Group is hiring a Cable Manufacturing Technician for a direct hire in Avon, CT. The role involves setting up, operating, and monitoring extrusion lines and related equipment to meet production and quality standards.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 1–3 years of manufacturing experience, and strong math skills. The position offers 1st and 2nd shift opportunities with a pay rate of $23–$25 per hour plus an 8% second shift differential.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of manufacturing, production, or industrial experience preferred
• Mechanical or technical background preferred
• Experience with extrusion, cable manufacturing, fiber optic products, or related production processes is a plus
• Experience troubleshooting equipment and production issues preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor extrusion lines and other cable manufacturing equipment
• Adjust machine settings to meet production and quality standards
• Review work orders, drawings, specifications, and production instructions
• Inspect and test cable products to ensure quality requirements are met
• Perform re-spooling, bobbin winding, packaging, labeling, and related production tasks
• Enter production and quality data into company systems
• Troubleshoot equipment and process issues to reduce downtime
• Partner with Engineering to support new products and process improvements
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Follow all safety procedures, ISO standards, and manufacturing guidelines
• Support additional production activities as needed

Education

High School Diploma or GED required

Associate degree or technical training preferred

Ability to read work instructions, drawings, and product specifications

Basic computer skills required

Strong math skills, including decimals, fractions, measurements, and conversions
