Job summary

Marmon Utility LLC, Seymour, CT, is seeking a skilled Large Machine Operator for its Plastics department. The role involves setting up and operating large machines to complete final cable processes, loading reels, threading, splicing, and ensuring quality while following safety protocols.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma (technical training preferred) and experience in manufacturing, with strong mechanical and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training helpful.
• Prior manufacturing experience preferred, especially in cable/wire or plastics.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and safe machine operation.
• Good problem-solving, attention to detail, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Review documentation and work orders.
• Set up, monitor and operate wide range of large machines in plastics dept.
• Move/load reels of product and components; guide cable through machinery.
• Splice wires, cap and tie ends, wrap products, and monitor quality.
• Operate forklift and handle propane cylinders; document and report to supervisor.
• Maintain clean work area; participate in team meetings; train others as needed.
