Job summary

Schupan is seeking a Bender Operator for the Covington facility in Kalamazoo, MI. You will set up and operate bending machines to produce precise metal components and read technical drawings to ensure tolerances. The role emphasizes safety, 5S organization, and collaboration with QC and engineering teams.

Expect competitive pay on 2nd shift, with full-time hours Mon-Thu 3:30pm-2am, and benefits including PTO, 401(k), and health coverage. Prior bending experience and blueprint reading are valued.

Qualifications

• Prior related experience and/or training preferred.
• Familiarity with blueprints and precision technical plans preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions and procedures.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Office (or similar).

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate bending machinery in accordance with prints and specifications.
• Interpret technical drawings and follow work instructions with proficiency.
• Conduct quality inspections using calipers, tapes, height gauges, and check fixtures.
• Inspect equipment before use to ensure proper setup and alignment; perform basic adjustments.
• Collaborate with quality control and engineering teams to resolve issues.
• Follow ISO quality procedures and maintain cleanliness using 5S process.
