Job summary

Schupan is seeking a Bender Operator for the Covington facility in Kalamazoo, MI. You will set up and operate bending machines to produce precision metal components, interpreting drawings and following work instructions precisely.

Responsibilities include conducting quality inspections, maintaining equipment and 5S cleanliness, and collaborating with QA and engineering to resolve issues, while upholding MIOSHA safety standards.

Qualifications

• Prior related experience and/or training preferred, with reliable work history.
• Ability to read blueprints and precision technical plans.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic in all units of measure.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Office.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate bending machinery in accordance with prints and specifications.
• Interpret technical drawings and follow work instructions with proficiency.
• Conduct quality inspections using calipers, tapes, height gauges, and check fixtures.
• Inspect equipment before use to ensure proper setup and alignment; perform basic adjustments and maintenance.
• Collaborate with quality control and engineering teams to resolve issues.
• Follow ISO quality procedures and maintain cleanliness using 5S process.
• Maintain a safe work environment in compliance with MIOSHA regulations.
