Job summary

Schupan & Sons in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking a CNC Operator 1 for 2nd shift (Mon-Thu 3:30 PM–2:00 AM) to run fabrication equipment, cut and shape components, and ensure parts meet tolerances. You will inspect parts, read blueprints, and maintain safety and quality standards.

You should have 1–3 months of related manufacturing experience, ability to read measuring tapes, and follow written and diagrammed instructions.

Qualifications

• 1-3 months of related manufacturing experience preferred.
• Prior knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate fabrication equipment including cutoff saw, punch press, form roll, and drill press to cut and shape components
• Operate hydraulic cranes to load material into machines
• Produce required quantities of parts within established specifications and tolerances
• Measure finished parts with precision tools to ensure quality and cosmetic compliance
• Fit and assemble components
• Inspect equipment before use to ensure proper setup and alignment; perform basic maintenance
• Consult with quality assurance and inspect workpieces to identify out-of-tolerance machining
• Maintain logs of units produced including any rejected or discarded pieces
• Follow ISO quality procedures and maintain cleanliness of work area
• Maintain a safe work environment in compliance with MIOSHA safety rules
