Job summary

Employbridge is seeking a skilled Band Saw Operator for the Santa Fe Springs, CA area. You will accurately cut metal stock using horizontal and/or vertical band saws, following blueprints and job travelers to ensure precise material preparation.

The role requires at least 1 year of band saw experience, ability to read technical drawings, and a commitment to safety. Training may be provided, and overtime is available as needed to meet production goals.

Qualifications

HS diploma or GED required; trade/vocational training a plus.
At least 1 year of band saw operation experience.
Ability to read blueprints, travel sheets, and drawings.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate band saws to cut metal materials.
Read and interpret job travelers, blueprints, cut lists, and drawings to determine cutting requirements.
Measure and mark materials using calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and other precision tools.
Select the proper blades based on material type and thickness.
Monitor saw performance and adjust feed rates, blade tension, and cutting angles as needed.
Perform routine machine inspections and basic preventative maintenance, including blade changes, lubrication, and cleaning.
Verify that cut parts meet dimensional tolerances and quality standards.
Identify and report material defects, safety concerns, or equipment malfunctions.
Maintain an organized work area and follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
Assist with loading and unloading materials and moving stock throughout the shop as needed
