Employbridge is seeking a skilled Band Saw Operator for the Santa Fe Springs, CA area. You will accurately cut metal stock using horizontal and/or vertical band saws, following blueprints and job travelers to ensure precise material preparation.

The role requires at least 1 year of band saw experience, ability to read technical drawings, and a commitment to safety. Training may be provided, and overtime is available as needed to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required; trade/vocational training a plus.
• At least 1 year of band saw operation experience.
• Ability to read blueprints, travel sheets, and drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate band saws to cut metal materials.
• Read and interpret job travelers, blueprints, cut lists, and drawings to determine cutting requirements.
• Measure and mark materials using calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and other precision tools.
• Select the proper blades based on material type and thickness.
• Monitor saw performance and adjust feed rates, blade tension, and cutting angles as needed.
• Perform routine machine inspections and basic preventative maintenance, including blade changes, lubrication, and cleaning.
• Verify that cut parts meet dimensional tolerances and quality standards.
• Identify and report material defects, safety concerns, or equipment malfunctions.
• Maintain an organized work area and follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Assist with loading and unloading materials and moving stock throughout the shop as needed

Band Saw Operator - 2nd & 3rd Shift

Location: Santa Fe Springs, CA

Pay Rates

• 2nd Shift: Monday-Friday, 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM | $22.00/hour
• 3rd Shift: Monday-Friday, 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM | $22.00/hour

Training Requirement: Candidates must be available to train on 1st Shift (Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM).

Overtime: Saturday overtime available based on production needs.
