Job summary

AeroSpec is hiring a Machine Builder II to construct precision custom automation equipment. You will read mechanical drawings, assemble subassemblies, align components, and integrate pneumatic systems under moderate supervision.

Collaboration with Engineering, Machining, Controls, and Production ensures designs become reliable automated equipment. The role emphasizes hands-on assembly, meticulous inspection, and independent decision-making within the machine section scope.

Qualifications

• Approximately 2–5 years of hands-on experience in machine building or automation equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and assembly prints.
• Experience assembling precision mechanical components and equipment.
• Working knowledge of alignment, fits, tolerances, fasteners, and mechanical hardware.
• Familiarity with basic pneumatic systems.
• Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.

Responsibilities

• Independently assemble mechanical subassemblies and machine sections from drawings and specifications.
• Install and fit components such as linear rails, bearings, shafts, couplings, belts, gears, motors, and tooling.
• Perform standard mechanical alignment and adjustment of machine components.
• Install and connect basic pneumatic components and assemblies.
• Use hand and power tools and precision equipment to complete machine builds.
• Inspect work for proper fit and conformance to drawings.
