AeroSpec is hiring a Machine Builder II to construct precision custom automation equipment. You will read mechanical drawings, assemble subassemblies, align components, and integrate pneumatic systems under moderate supervision.
Collaboration with Engineering, Machining, Controls, and Production ensures designs become reliable automated equipment. The role emphasizes hands-on assembly, meticulous inspection, and independent decision-making within the machine section scope.
AeroSpec is seeking an experienced, hands-on Machine Builder II to help build precision custom automation equipment. This is an intermediate-level position for someone who is comfortable working from mechanical drawings, assembling and aligning machine components, and taking ownership of machine subassemblies and sections with moderate supervision. Our Machine Builders work closely with Engineering, Machining, Controls, and Production to turn engineered designs into reliable, well-crafted automated equipment.
AeroSpec designs and builds custom automated manufacturing equipment, control systems, and control panels for a wide range of industries. Since 1982, we have designed and developed more than 1,200 custom machines and automated systems, and in the last two years alone have produced more than 3,000 control panels.
Our work ranges from individual machines to complex automation systems, giving our Machine Builders the opportunity to work on a wide variety of equipment and manufacturing challenges. Visit www.aerospecinc.com to see examples of the technology and equipment we build.
Experience with manual machining is especially valuable. Candidates who have worked with mills, lathes, precision measurement, blueprint reading, tolerances, fits, and inspection often develop the mechanical understanding needed to become exceptional machine builders.
Backgrounds that may translate particularly well include:
A successful Machine Builder II is someone we can give a machine section or significant subassembly and expect it to be built correctly, aligned properly, inspected carefully, and completed with relatively little day-to-day direction.
You won't be expected to know everything. You will be expected to recognize problems, ask good questions, work effectively with Engineering and other technical groups, and steadily expand the amount of the machine you can build and troubleshoot independently.
We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including:
Machine Builder II is part of AeroSpec's technical career path for Machine Builders. As your capabilities grow, advancement can lead toward Machine Builder III, where the emphasis shifts from ownership of machine sections to broader machine ownership, more advanced alignment and troubleshooting, and increased responsibility for machine performance.
