Job summary

iAutomation is seeking a skilled Machine Builder Technician in the United States to assemble, install, and test complex automated machinery. This role collaborates with engineering, controls, and manufacturing teams to ensure equipment meets specifications.

The candidate should have a strong mechanical background, read engineering drawings, and be proficient with hand tools and precision measuring devices. Prior robotics or CAD experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED; a technical certification or associate’s degree is preferred.
• 5+ years of experience building automated machinery, packaging equipment, or industrial systems.
• Proficient with hand tools, precision measuring devices, and power tools.
• Experience reading engineering drawings, mechanical prints, and pneumatic schematics.

Responsibilities

• Assemble complex automated machinery, systems, and sub-assemblies from mechanical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
• Install pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical components.
• Collaborate with engineering, controls, and manufacturing teams to ensure equipment functions per specifications.
• Perform mechanical troubleshooting, alignment, and precision adjustment of moving components.
• Assist in testing, debugging, and system startup activities.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Support field service teams with equipment installation and commissioning when required.
