Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Pontiac, IL is seeking an Assembly and Test Specialist to enhance process efficiency by assembling and testing component assemblies across manufacturing stages.

You will use hand and pneumatic tools to assemble fuel injectors/pumps, operate test machines, and perform repairs when needed. Starting pay is $23.22 per hour with night shift premium; 2nd and 3rd shifts; training on 1st shift; supplemental position.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of experience in manufacturing or engine maintenance.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions (schematics, standard work, blueprints).
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, test, rework, and repair fuel injectors and fuel pumps using hand and pneumatic tools.
• Assemble exhaust systems and PETU tanks with pumps, wiring harnesses, insulation and other components.
• Operate test machines.
• Disassemble and reassemble complex components to repair or replace damaged injector parts.
