Job summary

Pyrotek Cortland in Cortland, NY is seeking a hands-on team member to safely assemble units and sub-assemblies. You will read drawings, verify dimensions, and complete builds with proper tests before shipment.

The role requires mechanical aptitude, the ability to read blueprints, and experience with power/hand tools, forklifts, and PPE in a manufacturing setting. Full-time, on-site position with benefits.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED/TASC required.
• At least 1 year in mechanical troubleshooting/repair, electronics build/repair, manufacturing assembly, reading blueprints/schematics, and using power/hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings and work orders to determine parts and equipment.
• Verify part quality and dimensions; reject out-of-tolerance items.
• Plan build sequencing from start to finish per drawings.
• Install refractory shapes and finish work.
• Assemble electrical units; wire, test and troubleshoot prior to shipping.
• Layout pipelines and equipment; run pneumatic and hydraulic lines; install valves/regulators.
• Prepare equipment for shipment; perform finishing work.
