Job summary

Pyrotek Cortland is seeking a motivated manufacturing team member to safely assemble units and sub-assemblies, using blueprints, wiring, and finishing techniques. You will read drawings, verify tolerances, and participate in QC to ensure high-quality outputs for on-time delivery.

The role requires mechanical aptitude, familiarity with power tools, and the ability to obtain industrial equipment certifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED/TASC required.
• Minimum 1 year experience in mechanical troubleshooting, electronics build/repair, manufacturing assembly, reading blueprints and schematics, or working with power tools.
• Ability to read mechanical blueprints and complex drawings.
• Must obtain industrial equipment certification (e.g., forklift, overhead crane).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and spatial reasoning.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings and work order data to determine parts, supplies, materials, sub-assemblies, and equipment required to complete job builds.
• Verify quality and dimensional accuracy of parts and sub-assemblies; reject parts outside tolerance.
• Plan project build sequencing from start to finish according to drawings.
• Install refractory shapes and perform finishing work.
• Build electrical assemblies; wire, test, and troubleshoot units prior to shipping.
• Organize pipelines, fittings, and equipment; run pneumatic and hydraulic lines, install valves and regulators.
• Prepare equipment for shipment by finishing work and breakdown.
• Install refractory and insulation materials; sandblast and paint steel weldments as needed.
• Perform QC procedures to ensure parts meet defined quality criteria and tolerances.
• Operate forklift, overhead crane, and electric pallet jack and maintain required certifications.
