Job summary

Pyrotek Cortland is seeking an energetic assembler to safely operate mechanical equipment and assemble units per drawings, ensuring on-time delivery. The role requires reading blueprints, following work orders, and maintaining quality.

You will use hand tools and power tools, install refractory and insulation, perform QC checks, and work with piping, electrical assemblies, and finishing tasks. A GED or high school diploma and willingness to obtain certifications are required; we offer benefits

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED/TASC.
• Minimum 1 year experience in mechanical assembly or related fields.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret work orders.
• Willingness to operate forklifts and other equipment with proper certification.
• Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Good communication and safety-conscious.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings and work orders to determine parts and tools required.
• Verify part quality and tolerances.
• Plan build sequencing from start to finish.
• Install refractory shapes and finish work.
• Build electrical assemblies; test and troubleshoot.
• Organize pipelines and run pneumatic/hydraulic lines.
• Perform QC procedures to meet defined quality criteria.
• Safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and pallet jacks.
• Safely store tools and equipment.
