Job summary

IPG’s Medical Products Group is seeking an Assembler II to assemble, test, and support mechanical, electronic, and electro-mechanical medical instruments and prototypes. The role requires following detailed work instructions and maintaining quality standards in a manufacturing setting.

You will read blueprints and schematics, perform soldering, wire routing, and basic fabrication, and assist with packaging and inspections.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training preferred.
• Typically 1–2 years of assembly experience; progression from Assembler I.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, and schematics.
• Basic soldering and assembly skills; familiarity with hand and power tools.
• Basic computer skills (data entry, Microsoft Office, production systems).
• Strong attention to detail and quality orientation.
• Ability to follow standardized processes while working independently.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, align, and join components and subassemblies using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
• Install, route, and connect wiring, cables, and electronic components per diagrams and work instructions.
• Perform soldering and basic fabrication tasks to complete assemblies.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, bills of materials, and written procedures.
• Conduct quality checks and inspections to ensure products meet specifications and standards.
• Operate basic test equipment to verify functionality of assemblies and finished products.
• Support packaging and final inspection processes, including recording results.
• Maintain organized workstations and track materials; ensure inventory accuracy at workstation level.
• Follow safety procedures and PPE requirements; may work in cleanroom or controlled environments.
