Job summary

Astec is seeking an assembler to join our production team. You will assemble heavy and large mechanical components, align parts to specifications, and use a range of hand, pneumatic, and precision tools.

You’ll operate overhead cranes and forklifts under supervision and ensure safety and quality at every step. The role requires reading blueprints, using measurement tools, and collaborating with line workers to meet production schedules.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Trade school or college coursework desired.
• Ability to read drawings/blueprints accurately.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and assembles component parts and subassemblies.
• Use hand, pneumatic, hydraulic tools and precision measuring instruments.
• Operate overhead cranes and forklifts for movement of parts.
• Perform basic adjustments/repairs under supervision.
• Follow safety standards and report issues promptly.
• Assist with welding, washing, primer and painting as needed.
