Job summary

Astec is seeking an assembler in a heavy mechanical production environment. You will assemble, fit, and join components according to specifications and the production schedule, exercising independent decisions with guidance as needed.

You will use various hand and power tools, read blueprints, and operate overhead cranes and forklifts to move and assemble large components while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Knowledge of mechanical concepts, practices, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fit, and join components per specifications and schedule.
• Use hand, pneumatic, hydraulic tools and precision measuring devices.
• Operate overhead cranes and forklifts safely to move parts.
• Identify and address defective items according to procedures.
• Document diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
