Job summary

Astec is seeking a production assembler to safely assemble, fit, and join components for heavy mechanical products under the supervision of the Production Supervisor. The role requires reading blueprints, using precision tools, and maintaining strict safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

You will also operate overhead cranes and forklifts, perform adjustments, and help mentor new associates while contributing to lean initiatives and quality control throughout the production process.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Read blueprints and understand job-related drawings.
  • Experience with heavy equipment manufacturing desired.
  • Able to operate cranes and forklifts safely.
  • Commitment to safety and quality in production.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, fit, and join components per specifications.
  • Use hand, pneumatic, hydraulic tools and precision instruments.
  • Operate overhead cranes and forklifts to move parts.
  • Perform minor adjustments, repairs, or setups under supervision.
  • Document material transactions and non-conformances; train peers when needed.
