Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an assembler for 1st shift in York, PA. The role involves performing production assembly tasks using hand tools and equipment, reading blueprints and shop orders, and following SOPs and JSAs to meet quality standards.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work in an industrial environment, with potential overtime and full-time commitments. The hourly pay range is disclosed and benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma/GED and previous experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrates an attention to detail.
• Ability to read, communicate and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, blueprints and engineering drawings in the English Language.

Responsibilities

• Performs a combination of production assembly tasks using hand tools, small power tools, and other special equipment following detailed assembly instructions, processes and procedures (written and verbal) to meet and exceed customer expectations.
• Reads and interprets blueprints, engineering specifications, engineering drawings, and shop orders to assemble final and subassembly products.
• Operates within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).
• Safety Awareness - Take responsibility for their own safety as well as the safety of others; maintain a clean and organized work area and comply with safety policies.
• Quality - Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisors; perform first article inspection for conformance to specifications.
• Teamwork – Collaborate with other departments, shifts, and management to meet customer expectations; communicate issues to supervisors.
