Job summary

Durwood Greene in Eastern Texas is seeking an Asphalt Heavy Equipment Screed Operator to join our paving crew. You will operate the Screed Machine to level asphalt and ensure pavement meets specifications, coordinating with the foreman and crew for quality results.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years in asphalt and 1–2 years operating paving equipment; familiarity with OSHA regulations and a high school diploma are preferred. Some travel across Texas may be required.

Qualifications

• Mid-level role in asphalt production with equipment knowledge.
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations.
• HS diploma or GED preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate Screed Machine to level asphalt and ensure smooth pavement.
• Set and maintain proper level/height for paving machine.
• Run paver in straight line to avoid runovers.
• Inspect equipment before and after shifts.
• Maintain safety and coordinate with crew.
• Perform general labor as needed for paving, patching, prep.
• Clean and organize equipment at end of shift.
• Demonstrate coordination and safe use of heavy equipment.
